Rev. Joy
Parrish, RScP
Rev. Joy Parrish was introduced to Religious
Science in 1977 in San Diego when she attended a seminar
entitled "How to Achieve Success" with Rev.
Terry Cole Whitaker. When Joy learned that
Terry was a minister, she knew she had to attend her
church because her words resonated with what Joy believed.
She attended classes and became a member of the La Jolla
Church of Religious Science.
When it became necessary for Joy to move to the
Bay Area in 1979, she found another wonderful teacher
at the San Jose Church of Religious Science. Dr. Robert
Scott, under whose tutelage she became a licensed
Practitioner in 1984, also headed a branch
of the Religious Science School of Ministry where Joy
studied. She also studied at the Los Angeles and Huntington
Beach branches of the Religious Science School of Ministry.
She graduated in 1990 and received permission
from headquarters to found a church in Bisbee,
Arizona. She was ordained in 1995. The church she founded
is still thriving.
Later in 1995, Rev. Joy moved to Grass Valley, then
to Auburn. She joined the Foothill Church of Religious
Science where she became one of our Practitioners. She
